Is The Genius Blogger’s Toolkit Worth It?

Investing in blogging courses can be a great way to shorten the learning curve and help you see the success you crave faster.

But when it comes to bundles of courses, sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming.

Bundles are more popular than ever with new ones popping up all the time. So the question becomes, how do you know if a bundle is right for you?

In this post, I’ll be using the annual Genius Blogger’s Toolkit as an example for evaluating a bundle, but you can apply the same thinking to any bundle.

1. Make Sure You Understand Exactly What the Bundle is

It’s especially important to note how long you’ll have access to the resources in the bundle. Looking at the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit:

First things, first let me explain what the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit (GBTK) is…

It’s a collection of courses, ebooks, templates, and other resources grouped together in one large product bundle and sold at a steep discount.

We’re talking real steep, like 98% off than if you were to buy everything individually.

Which brings us to the next topic….

What is the Cost vs the Value

How much of a discount is being given and is it accurate or a bit inflated. I like to check and see what some of the products are actually selling for to see if the price and discount are acurate.

The GBTK includes over $7,000 worth of resources for the cost of $97 with the option to add on “cheat sheets” for $50.

Are the Cheatsheets worth $50?

The cheat sheets basically give you a quick overview/summary of each resource. I think they can be great for some people, but I’ve never ended up using them.

So my recommendation would be to skip adding on the Cheat Sheets.

Is it really $7,000+ Worth of Digital Products?

Yes and no, you need to look carefully at the list of products included. Often times it’s a “lite” version of the course instead of the full thing.

Which is great for just getting started on something but may not get you all the way there.

So it’s possible that the cost of the bundle is slightly inflated, but not by much in my opinion.

That being said when you access any of the products that are the “lite” versions, expect to see an upsell from the product owner.

Is it Worth the Cost to You?

What specific resources catch your eye? You don’t need to redeem every product. Every product doesn’t need to be a perfect fit for you. But there needs to be enough products that purchasing them all separately would cost more than the bundle.

Personally, if I can find at least 3 resources in a Bundle that would be useful and when added together would cost more than the cost to buy individually, then I consider it worth it.

When it comes to this many resources, I look at it as a small investment to dip my toes in the water of anything I’m thinking of experimenting with.

Be Prepared for Upsells

As I mentioned before you may find yourself spending more when you see various upsell offers. Because one of the benefits of contributor to give away their product for free is to get you to purchase other things from them.

Additionally, some of the products may recommend different tools, some of which cost money. It’s always up to you if you want to use that tool, but it might be difficult to apply all the advice if you don’t.

On the flipside, there are TONS of products included in the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit. So if one doesn’t work out because it wants you to use a specific paid tool, chances are there is another one that suggests something different.

How Often is the Bundle Available?

Some bundles like BC stack or the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit happen annually. Other’s may be a one-off. Knowing if the opportunity to get the bundle or one similar will be available can help you to decide if you want to purchase now.

The 2023 version of the GBTK (it’s different every year) will only be available for one week in 2024.

But buying early can pay off with bonuses. For example, in 2020 the GBTK offered an early bird bonus, an ADA Compliance Alt Tag Report + Content Audit Package from the Blog Fixer.

What’s Included in The Bundle?

So. Much. Stuff.

Which is why it important to research the products that most interest you and come up with a plan to tackle them if you do purchase. A bunch of products gathering digital dust will do you no good.

Fortunately, the awesome people at Ultimate Bundles (the sellers of the Toolkit) make navigating everything easy, because it’s all categorized by topic and product type.

You can even run a search, here is a screenshot of your dashboard that shows how you can navigate the bundle once you purchase:

Are the GBTK products actually good products?

Yes. Though, as I mentioned earlier, some of the products are “lite” versions rather than an entire course. Make sure you review the bundle product list closely if there is something, in particular, you’re looking for.

Personally, I always love getting my hands on the stock photo collections and any templates, both are just huge time savers for me.

I’m pretty excited that included in the 2020 bundle are eBook and opt-in templates from my friend Lena at WhatMommyDoes.com.

Are There Any Bonuses?

Yup. Beyond the Early Bird Bonus, there are tons of other blogging tools available as Bonuses.

And I’m excited to share that 3 months of access to the 2020 Blogger Breakthrough Summit is one of the bonuses included.

There are also lots of extended free trials for various tools, including SocialBee, Tailwind, Podia, Stencil, and Convertkit + more.

You typically only have 30 days to sign up for the Bonuses.

Should You Buy the Bundle?

Okay, so we’ve covered what’s in the toolkit and the value, but now it’s time to figure out if it’s going to be a good fit for you.

How the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit Can Help You:

There are a few different ways the toolkit can help:

Taking any course is bound to teach you something

It might be it helps shorten the learning curve helping you succeed faster, that is always the ideal scenario.

If a course doesn’t work out it can teach you what NOT to do in your own products.

Helps Avoid Decision Fatigue

There are sooo many course offerings out there, this bundle shows you just a small sample of what exists in the world. And trying to pick and choose between all the offers based on a variety of factors including your budget can be tiring.

Getting the bundle gets you access to a ton of stuff for one low price and because it’s so much stuff it will keep you busy for a while.

The Cons of The Genius Blogger’s Toolkit

Just like there are some great benefits of the toolkit, like the cost, value, and ways the actual content can help you, there are some drawbacks too.

Irrelevant Products

First, not all the products are going to apply to what you want to do. But so long as the ones that are a good fit provide enough value, then this drawback can be easily over come.

Just “ok” products

Some of the products may end up being not as awesome as you hoped. Or are maybe geared towards someone either more or less experienced than you, making it not particularly helpful to you.

Only six months to access everything from the bundle

Once you’ve accessed a product you’ll have lifetime access unless otherwise specified. But all the access information that is available inside the bundle will disappear after six months.

So if there is something you know you’ll want to dig into but not until much later, make sure you access it before the access code disappears.

Emails galore

If you live in the US as I do, that means you don’t have the same choices when it comes to receiving tons of emails, the way those in the EU do.

This means that for every product you access you could potentially get added to their email list. Which can mean A LOT of emails in your inbox.

Personally, I like to give them a few emails to see what kind of value they provide, before I decide to unsubscribe.

If you live in the EU you don’t have to worry about this as much because you should only be added to a newsletter if you specifically opt-in to do so.

Why I Always Buy the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit

I’ve bought the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit every year for the last 4 years. One of the reasons I buy is that I always get my money’s worth.

Over the years, I’ve pivoted in my business a lot, and having a cache of resources, courses, and tools available to me has been a lifesaver.

It goes something like this, I realize I need to pivot, I check my list of courses and ebooks etc to see if there is something there to help. I use it and don’t have to spend likely $100 on one course.

It saves me time and agonizing over whether to buy ANOTHER course.

How to Tackle the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit

The same way you would eat an elephant…………. one bite at a time. Don’t try to do everything all at once. Note I said “do”. You likely do want to access everything all at once, so you don’t have to worry about the access information disappearing in 6 months.

But don’t try to tackle all the material at once. Start with what most excites you, then move on to something less exciting but necessary and keep going switching between exciting and necessary.

Important Things to Know About the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit
