I cancelled my Zapier subscription because I was able to run pretty much all my automations through Airtable.
I’ve used Airtable scripts to set custom affiliate commissions in my checkout platform, send contracts out to speakers, pull sales data from Stripe and PayPal into one place, and pull my Kit broadcast data into Airtable so I can sort through it more easily than inside Kit.
My approach: “I look at the tools I’m using, I look at the APIs, and figure out how I can get all the information I want in one place without banging my head against the wall or setting up a million Zaps.”
It sometimes took testing, tweaking, and back and forth to get there. Now there are MCPs that let AI actually build these scripts with you, instead of you writing them.
